When the Origins Market concept was conceived, the founders had two simple beliefs.
Firstly, that West Australians are smart and they’re passionate about the transparency and provenance of the food and crafted products that they buy and consume.
That they are increasingly conscious that not only buying fresh and local, shortens supply chains and is better for the environment and economy, but also that the South West of WA has some of the best quality and innovative growers, producers and creative entrepreneurs in the world.
Secondly, because the owners are locals too, they understood that West Aussies are a sociable bunch, who love a get together and yarn over a tasty plate, cold beer or rich red. They believed that if you could combine a unique fresh retail space where you can taste, test and choose, with a super casual, but exceptional quality licenced dining experience,
you could create an authentic, environment and community where locals, visitors and
producers connect and come together to celebrate and share the best of the West.
So Origins was born

With 6 precincts under one roof, Origins Market provides a year round offering showcasing the wealth of talent and quality product available in Western Australia.
Over 480,000 people visited Origins Market in the first year of trading and more than 580,000 to date (Feb 2023). Currently average visitor numbers are 9,000 per week which is expected to grow to 12,000 in the next two years.
There are many reasons to visit. It’s an inspirational community space to hang out and meet the locals – the artisan baker, vintner and the candlemaker, as well as the brewer and barista, providore and weaver and ice cream maker. And Chef, artist, farmer and beekeeper.
It’s a constantly evolving, creative space where visitors can meet up with friends, learn new skills, experience a charming way to buy their favourite products and get to know their community.
A true farmers market offering seasonal, fresh produce from paddock to plate. Also houses small batch WA brands in the WA Gourmet Pantry and space for meat and seafood producers.
Artisan Alley is run as a co-op of creative artisans who support each other with a staff roster and by selling each other’s products with one point of sale. This is perfect for creatives on a small budget.

A high-demand space in Origins Market, our eateries are internationally influenced and the best at what they do. The market ensures there’s a range of options to suit all tastes and budgets.
The only Urban Cellar in Busselton and the only one open Friday & Saturday nights. Customers get to try before they buy from the best of WA’s wine, gin, vodka, cider and mead.
The market’s licensed bar is run by Homestead Brewery/Mandoon Estate and is a big drawcard to bring visitors to the market. Particularly for Origins By Night on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Over 100 small businesses have joined Origins Market since its inception. Currently more than 70 small businesses are building viable enterprises thanks to sizeable investment by Origins in marketing programs, event activation and tourism development.

Origins Market is open 4 days, Thursday to Sunday 8.30am – 6pm
Friday and Saturday 6pm – 9pm for Origins By Night
Vendors are expected to be at the market for the full opening hours although certain precincts have different hours depending on licensing.
